Kaneira West

My grandfather and my father went to school in this very building now preserved at the pioneer settlement in Swan Hill
it was located west of the township of Kaneira thus the name.
the town of Kaneira received a name change to Culgoa in the 1920's as mail between it and Kaniva was being mixed up, Kaniva was the larger town so it got to keep its name! Kaneira West never changed.
I have one of my fathers text books at home, and his school bag is still hanging in the school.
We cannot live in the past, but it is nice to remember it!
